CXXV. the (Vora/hall be judged. f4-7 take this Work, and fubmit to all thole grievous Things, which were necelfary to be done and fuffered, in order to the effecting of it ; and that when he had accomplif I'd it, God would confer this Glory upon him, that in his Humane Nature he fhould be exalted to the right Hand of God, and have Power given him over all Flefh, to judge the World, and to give eternal Life to as many as he ¡leafed ; and when he had received this Reward, that then his Mediatory Office Rtould ceafe, and he (hould reign up the Kingdom to God the Father, that God might be all in all. This is the Scope and Defign of the feveral Texts of Scripture concerning this Matter.. V'vith relation to this Covenant and Agreement between him and his Fa- ther, he prays, John.i7. r, 2. that he would not be unmindful of the Glory which he had promifed to inveft himwithal. And 'the,Apofile, to.the Hebrews, Chap. 12. 2. tells us that the Hopes of this did encourage, and bear up our Lord under his Sufferings, Who for the Toy that was fee before him, endured the Croft., delifing the Shame, and is fit down at the right Hand of theThrone ofGod. : And St. Peter tells us, i'Pet. I. r i. that the Prophets of Old teftifaed before-hand the Sufferings of Chrifi, and the Glory that Auld follow. And St. Paul tells us what this Glory is, Eph. I. 20, 21. viz. That God hathfit hint at his own right Hand in heavenly Places, far above all Principality; and Power, andMight, andDominion, and every Name that is named, not only in this World, but in that which is to collie. But molt exprefly, Phil. 2.. 7, 8, g, so, is. the lameApoflle tells us, that in Confideration of the great Hu- miliation and Sufferings of- Chrift, God bath highly exaltedhim.
