If the divine attribute of perfeEt holinefs is the molt worthy of our efteem and imita- tion, our Lord Jefus Chrift is alfo holy, harmlefs, undefiled, and feparate from fin - ners, and has given us a molt complete pat- tern of all amiable virtue, that we fhould follow his fteps. If the love of God ma- nifefted to us, not only by the gifts of his providence, but efpecially by the benefit of our redemption, be an argument for our gratitude to him, the fame confideration should excite our love to Chrift ; for he loved us, and gave himfelf for us, to redeem us from all our iniquity.
