This word revenue, as the Hebrews diftinguith it, is corne after it it eared ; and af- ter it is tbrefhed andfanned a it is called (dagan) corne. This is a general! warning both to Priefts and Levites, that the holy things of the people be not profaned by them, nor fuffered to be profaned by others. And holy things might be profaned, if either they were eaten out of the time limited by God, as in Lev.' 9.7,8. or if the Pri «s were uncleane when they did eat them, as Lev.22.2i3i9. or if others did eat them, to whom they did not pertain; as Lev,22,1 o,1 5,16. or if other the like unlawful allions were done or fuf- fered. The Minifters of God therefore had this charge upon them, by all meanes to Can&ifie the Lord, his Tabernacle & holy things; that fo they might procure the welfare and falvatíon both of themfelves and others; as i Tim.4.16, CHAP. And tlje Prieft (hall wafh his cloathes, and he (hall bathe his flefh in water, and after- ward he (hall come into the campe , and the Prieft (hall be uncleane untill the evening. And hee that burneth her , (hall wafh his 8 cloathes in water, and bathe his flefh in wa- ter, and (hall be uncleane untill the evening. And a man that is ,clean (hall gather up the afhes ofthe heiffer,and lay them up with- out the campe in a creane place ; and it (hall be for a refervation for the. congregation of the tons of Ifrael, fora water of feparation, it is a purification for fin. And he that gathe- reth the afhes of the heiffer, (hall wafh his cloathes,and (hall be uncleane untill the eve- ning : and it (hall be unto the fors of Ifrael , and unto the ftranger that fojourneth among them , for a Rature fer ever. He that touch- 1 i o eth the dead of any foule of man, he fhall be even uncleane feven daies. He /hall purifie a a himfelfe with it in the third day , and in the feventh day he ¡hall be cleane; and if he pu- rifie not himfelfe in the third day, and in the feventh day, he (hall not be cleane. Who- 13 foever touched the dead, the foule of a man that is dead , and purifieth not himfelfe , he defileth the Tabernacleof Jehovah,and that foule (hall be cut off from Ifrael: becaufe the water of feparation was not fprinkled upon, him,he (hall be uncleane; his uncleanneffe is yet upon him. This is the .Law : When a man dieth in a tent, all that come into the tent, & all that is in the tent, fhalbe uncleane feven dales.
