Surely this is the meaning. Chrift 1 or 1 r· ~ ' · therefore fubjeCl:s himfelfe unto his Father, that God himfelfe may be all in all; that God may no more reign by a deputy, or by a Chrift, but that immediately and perfectly he may reign by himfelfe, fo that every one may fee him face to face. Here we enjoy God (as it were) bymeanesas in the ufe of the Word, and Sacraments, and the like, but when that Kingdome (where thefe adminiftracions are made ufe of ) ihall be delivered up, then ihatl God himfelf be all in all, without meanes, without defc:d, withoutend. It is obfervable that Chrifl: in his Mediatory Kingdome hath · fome fuch things as bi!are an Analogy ~o the means and infiruments ofgoverningin the Kingdomesofmen; As, r. He hath his militia and his laws, with threatnings and promifes, in the ordinances of his Word. z. He hath his grants, and feales, with many priviledges to confirme his people in the ordinances of his Sacraments. 3.
