Is Chrift manife£1:- ed in thee? furely this is more than Chrift manifefted to thee. the bare hiftory is the manifdtation of Chrifr unto thee, but there's a myfiery in the inward manifeftation. The Apoftle fpeaking of the Saints, he adds, towhom God would mak$ /z.nown wh11t is the riches of the gMy of thio· myflery among the Cjentifes, .which is,Chrift in you the hope ofglory. Oh the riches of the glory ofthis myftery! conflderitohmyfoul; God might haveflmc thee up in blindneffe· with the world, or he might only have .given thee parts and gifts, ' Or at moft he might have enlightned thy reafon, to have taken in the outward notions of the Gofpel; but hath he revealed Chrift in thee ? hath he let thee fee into the wonders of his glory? hath he given thee the light of his glory witbin ?
