There is no divine jul.lice for them to undergo, that have their fhare in this death of Chrift, oh the grace and mercy that is purchafed by this meanes ofChrift ! oh the waters of comfort that flow from the fufferings and obedience ofChrift! Chril.l was amazed, that we mig'ht be cheered; Chrift was imprifoned, that we might he delivered; Chrift was accufed, that. we might be acquitted; Chrift was condemned, that we might be redeemed; Chrift fuffered his Fathers wrath and came under it, that the victory might be ours, and that in the end we might fee him face to face in glory: Is not here matter of joy? it may be the law, and fin, and juftice, and confdence, and death, and hell may appeare as enemies, and difturbe thy comforts ; but is there l:lOt enough in the blood of Chrift ro chafe them away. ? give me leave but to frame the objections of fome doubting fouls; and fee whether ~hriil:s death will not fufficient!y anfwer, and folve them all. 1.
