Faith is the eye of the foul,and with ic,chrough a promife, as through a Ptofpe6five- glafs, can the foul have a view of Heaven and glory. What greater certainty or fe- cu:ity can a man have, than the infallible promifeof that God who is truth it felf ; who will not deny his Word, but the fame Love and free Grace that moved him to infufe Grace into thy heart, and to make thr promife,will move him alío to give the thing promifed, John 3.16.Gad fo loved the world, that he gave his oncly begotten Son, that whofsever belie - veth on him, fhoarld not perijh, but have everlaf ing life, John S. 24.
