Thofe apprehenfions Abraham had of God did beget (as we have íhewn) high thoughts of God, with fuch apprehenfions of God we muff perform all our worfhip; See what high thoughts of God his people have alwaies had in worfbipping him, Neh.9.5,6. i Tim.i, 17, I MO. Low thoughts of God will ever perform but low,bafe,contemptible Service and Worfhip ; they brought God the blind, the lame, the lick for Sacr ifice, 4414I.i. Go, faith God, prefenr them to your Governour,and fee if he do not fcorn your preterit, as undervalued by it ? Ver.8. Certainly, Mofes had here a fight of Gods glory beyond all that ever he had teen before. Compare with this that Text, 2 Cor.4.6, God, who commanded light to Thine out of darknefs, bath fhined in our hearts to give me the light of the knowledge of his glory in the face of ?efus Chrifl : All the other manifeítations of Gods glory were but dark and dim, in comparifon of thofe which appear in the face of Jefus ChrilL Therefore we can attain no where fuck high, fo great, fo glo- rious Conceptions of God as in Jefus Chrift. 2. Abraham had fuch Conceptions of God as humbled,emptied,and abated him in himfelfin comparifon of God ; and with fuch apprehen- lions of God mutt we perform all our Worfhip to him, Pfa1.95.6. We are exhorted to come and worfhip, and bow down, and kneel -- In all Worfhip w: are to teftiîie, as our abfolute fubjettion to God, fo our humbleft fubmiffion to him ; Obferve what felt- abafing thoughts the apprehenfions of Gods goodnefs wrought in David when he went to worftiip before the Lord, 2 Sam.7.18,19)20.
