When God calls to felf- deniall in force creature - comfort, and then the heart forms excufes for the enjoyment of it, as they in the Gofpell , they all began to make excufes,when they were call'd to the Wedding Supper, their lawfull comforts became a fnare and fin to them, Luke 14. 16,17. If thy heart in fuch a cafe fludies colours to adorn or fet it out, or fet it off, or covers to protet it, then it is fin- full ; the heart mifcarries in the injoyment of its comforts, when it fiudies how to hide it felf in the injoyment of it as rAuch as may be, even from the eye of God.
