Our Saviour w«e tempted by the unclean Spirit , yet was holy , harmlefs, and un- defiled ; and has a compaffionate tender- nefs for thofe who are terñpted , and will make them partake of theFruits of his glorious Viaory. 'Tis true, if the - injekbons of Satan are cherifh'd by the ,.Carnal Mind, they are ours by adoption, though of hisbegetting. The Devil put in the Heart of yudaa, the defign of be- trayingChriff, but it wash entertain'd by his Covetous Mind, and involv'd him under the heavieft Guilt. The inclina- tions of Carnal Men are to various Sins , to which they are more inclinable by the Temptations of Satan but that does not excufe them from Guilt. CHAP,
