The exercife and effeas of pure Love principally refpeú theSoul, the more ex- cellent and immortal part of our Friends. We are commanded to exhort one ano- ther, while 'tis called to day, and to prom evoke one another to love, and good works. Exhortation includes Inffrudion and Ad- monition : The giving Counfel how to preferve the Purity, and fecure the Salva- tion of the Soul ; how to prevent Sin, or to cure it by the conviaion of Con- fcience when ignorant of its Duty, by the excitation of the Affeaions when cold and fluggifh, and direaion to order the Converfation aright. The perfor- mance of this Duty is infeparable from pure and unfeigned Love, and the ne- glea of it is an argument of deadly Ha- tred.
