The Pardon of Sin is attended with all the moil excellent Bleflings, the tefi- Monies of his Favour. Guilt feats the fountain, and fops the current of Mer- cies ; it expofes us to the Terrors of the Lord. If Sin be pardon'd , Peace of Confcience is a Rain-bow of Tranqui- lity in the forms of outward Evils. If Guilt be not abolifh'd , a Sinner in the moil} fhining Prefperity, has fearful dark nefs within. (2.) This Relation gives Us an adop- tive freedom, and joyful accefs to God in Prayer. God, upon his Throne of Glory, or his Throne of Judgment , ftrikes us with Terror ; but upon the Throneof Grace, as our Father, invites our Áddreffes. The Apofle incourages us to come with 1oldnef to the Throne of Grace, or Grace on the Throne, difpen- fing Grace and Mercy in time of need.
