And as they relax our obli- gation to the Precepts of the Law, fo by other DoErines they releafe Men from the fear of the SanEion and Penalty : for the Doarine of Purgatory takes a- way the fear of Hell, and the Doarine of Indulgences the fear of Purgatory. 2. The Gofpel propounds to us' Ex. amples of PerfeEion to raife us to the belt heighth. z. We are Commanded to be perfeci as our heavenly Father is perfe[t. There are fogne Attributes of God, that are not the ObjeE of our Dehres and Imitati- on, but of our higheft Reverence and Veneration. Such are his Eternity, Im- menfity , Omnipotence, Immutability. There are other Attributes, his Moral Perfeaions, that are imitable : Holinefs, Goodnefs, Juftice, Truth ; which are purely and fully declar'd in his Law , and vifibly in the Works of Providence. This Command as was before explain'd, is tobe underftood, not of an equality, but refemblance. He is Effentially Tranfcendently and Unchangeably Holy, the
