Therefore the very offer isas much as tofay, [ Accept Chrift as one that hath fatisfied for thee]. And fo " theymake the verypreachingof the Gofpel, a lye, to moil. B. I will not anfwer you as Tome thatfay, they tell not menthatthey areElelt,and that Chrift died for them;but that ifthey will believe,then it is a fign that they areElelt, andChrift died for them: And they may offer himto all, thatforce may accept him. For I fay as you do, that it is a Chrift that hath already made fatisfaition, and thereby is become a fufficient Saviour, who is to be offered tomen. And the beingof the Gift is beforetheoffer ofit in nature. But I fay again that you fight againft ftraglers, in a Caufe which theChurches are not concerned in: They fay that it is a Chrift who died for all as tofufficiency, who isto be offered to men, that he may efficiently fave them. The feventh 'Crimination. A. " They leave moil men in the World as remedilef as the Devils, who " had no Redeemer : whereas God judgeth the wicked at loll as Rejebters " of his remedying Grace. If Chrifi died not for them, what differ they "from theDevils inpoint of hope B. I will not anfwer you as force, that thoughChrift died not for them yet they know it not, and the offer differenceth their Cafe : For ftill, I confefs, that none is to beoffered tomen, but aChrift that was already offered to God for them, and hath made fatisfaétion.
