Where note r That it is plainly implyed , that theBelievers have the Son, and the unbelivers have not : and therefore the former are faid to have the witnefs in themfelves,and the latter to make God a Lyar. He that believeth on the Son hash everlast- ing life : and he that believeth not the Son (or obeyeth him not or is not perfwaded by him ) Ad not fee life, but the wrath of god abideth on him. And v. 18. He is condemned already. 2. Note that upon our believing, firft we have the Son, viz. In Covenant Right as our Head and Husband and acknowledged King and Saviour, and then we have life with him. 3. Note, that all they that have not by Faith received the Son , have not life , though they may be Elect thereto. That is, They are yet under both Guilt and Power of fin anddeath : They have not the Life of Remiffion or Abfolution nor the Life of Holynefs , nor Right to the Life of Glory : For it is the word received that is able to fave our fouls,and to give us an Inheritance among the fanaified. And we are then made meet to be partakers of the Inheritance of the Saints in Light. When God bath deliveredta from thepower ofdarknefs, and translated us into the Kingdom of his dear Son in whomwe have Redemption through his blood, even theforgivetufs of fins. That is , by the Merit of his blood-fhed , when we are fo tranflated, into the KingdomofChrift. For as on the fheddingof his blood, Chrift receiveth Authority to forgive us ; fo upon our belief in his blood,we are actually forgiven : And therefore it is more then the shedding of his blood, (even the Application alfo) which theSaints (hall glorifie him for ineternity,even 7efus Chrift who is the faithfulwitnefs, and thefirf? begotten of the dead, and the Princeof the Kings of the Earth : Vnto him that bath lovedas, andwalhed asfrom ourfins in his oPon blood, and bath made us Kings andTriefis unto godand his Father, tohim be Glory and Dominion for ever and ever, Amen.
