Only I Rill confefs, that when Juftification is taken for our firit being Juftified only, it muff needs go before works of exter- nal obedience; but that is not Taldi meaning in excluding works, for be excludes them from faving as well as juftifying. . t muft acknowledged therefore, that in what fenfe they are not exclu- ded from laving, as Conditions, in that fenfe they arenot ex- cluded from beingConditionsof our Juftification at Judgement, or as continued. A learned man here gives me a twofold anfwer, I. That there is no proper Juftification at judgement, but only a declaring that we are juftified. Repl. All Judicial Juftification is but a declaring, bya deciding Sentence,who isjuft in Law.This is therefore as good an anfwer as to fay, No judgedoth juftifie : He doth but declare who was Juftified before. But the Juftification he had before,was of another fort, viz. Conftitutive , and as to that of Sentence, but Virtual Thecontrary therefore is a found arguing : Every judge that by Sentence declares who was juft in Law, doth there- by juftifie them, that is, by Sentence. 3.
