Next it is objeeled, that we are Unbelievers, that is , that we didnot perform the condition ofthe Covenant ofGrace,vi.t. Faith. From the formerAccu- fation, we are Juffified by faith only whereby we embrace Chrifts Grace and Righteouf- nefs. From the latter, we are juftified alfo by works, as faith is chewed by them ; James re- fpeeting the latter accufation, did juftly affirm that a man is juftified by works, and not by faithonly. But Paul refpeaing the former, faith that a man is Juftified by faith without works, &c. In the day of Judgement, becaufe the Covenant of Grace (hall obtain the force of a Law or Rule of judgement ( for it bath been promulgated by fit Heralds in the whole world ) This one thing will be to be proved, to wit, that we had the conditionof the Cove- nant of Grace, that is faith. Therefore works mutt be open- ly produced, efpecially ofcha- rity, as the effeas and argu- ments demonftrative, as they commonly fay, a pofieriori, of that condition, that is, offaith. In
