[that I may, prevent all fuch evafions of the contrary minded, I thus propound my Argument. Betides the fa natty or Righteoufnefs of Chrift imputed to us, there is required of us our felves another, truly and really in our own proper perfons to be performed, as neceliary to falvaticn, It is required I lay,not by way of merit or fatisfac-tion,but of gratitude and new obedience, Lfi4 i. 28. lob. /3. i7. Neb. 12. 14. But this obedience which is by us our telves to be performed as neceffary to falvation, is not that perl-ea obedience which exatIly fatisfieth the Law. For then no man should obtain eternal life ; therefore this obedience which is by us our felves to be performed as neceffary to falvation, is that imperfet obedience, &c.
