He that magnifieth the Cure doth honour the Phy_ frtian; but he that flighteth or difregardeth it doth difhonour him. Todebafe the workof Creation is areproach to the Crea- tor ; yea to over-look it and, not admire and magnifie it is an injury tohim To villifie the workofthe Redeemer, is horrible infidelity and ingratitude : and to flight it and not tomagnifie it, is damnable. And mull it not be fo then tovillifie or not to magnifie the works of the San&ifyer ? Whrfhould it not be our duty to magnifie thework of Sanctification as well as the work of Creation and Redemption ? Efpecially when it is the end which theother do tend to and that without which we are un- capable of fincere magnifying either Creation or Redempti- on,? 9. It is certain that wemay Glory in thehealingof our difeafes, and recoveryof our depraved miferable fouls. He that mua be fenfrble of his fin, mufi needs be fenfible of the mercy of the de- liverer. It cannot be that we fhould be obliged to mourn for fin, and yet may not Glory in our deliverance from ir. Nature it felt' confiraineth us to lament theknownunhappinefs of our fouls, as wellas the wounds and calamitiesof our bodies And therefore the fame nature mua needs teach us to rejoyce and glory in our fpiritual recovery. to. If we may Glory in our Remiffion or YBffificatio.,then by proportionor parity of realm, we nmy alfoglory in our Mortificati- on. For both are ours bygift, andneither are deferred by us. But it is pafi doubt that wemay glory in our Pardon or j uflification therefore we may alto glory inour Mortification. r i. Undoubtedlywe mayglory inthe ruine of the enemies of Chrift andas.
