17.0 Comfort by errours,, how wrought. I have known force that have lived long in doubts and fears of damnation , who have turned Anabaptifis, and fuddenly had comfort : Andyet in a fhort time they forfook that Se& and turned to another. I have known thole allo that have lived many years in rimerons complaints,and fearsof Hell ; and they have turned to the Anti- uomians, and fuddenly been comforted: And others have turned Arminians, which is clean contrary, and been comforted : And others have but heard of the Doftrine of perfellion in this life, and fuddenly been paff their fears, as if hearing of perfe&ion had made them perfe& : And from thence they have turned Famili/ts, and at laff fhew'd their perfe&ion by fornication and licenti- obfnefs and -meer Apollafe ; who yet liv'd very confcionably and blamelefly, as long as they lived in their fears and troubles. The reafon of all this is plain to any judicious Obferver. t .
