But Chrift bath given gifts to all his Mi- niters and commanded them to ufe them. e./Ind they are them not when they ufe impofed formes Therefore we :Haft not obey men againft Chrifi. .nfw. No doubt but all that are lawful Mir nillers, have fuch gifts as are neceffary to the ef- fential works of their office. But the degrees of their gifts have verygreat variety, as Taal fully fheweth in i or. iz. and oft elfewhere. And the neceffary gift for hearty acceptable prayer , is true Defire excited by the fpirit of fupplication , which fometime venteth it felf but by fighes and groans, Rom. 8. 16, 26. But the Minifierial gift of prayer is Knowledge and utterance ; by which a Miníller may be a- ble to exprefs the delires and wants of the peo- ple unto God : which includeth memory in force degree. Even as Knowledge and Utterance are his Gift ofpreaching. And foie have more Knowledge and wrier Vt.; terance ; And forne have better Vtterance and lei?
