Ar Any a Ruler finneth in his.Commands,when it is no fin but a duty of the inferior to obey them. He that bath but a bad end, or bad circumílances may fin in commanding : As if a Ma;iflrate command Religious Duties in nieer Policy for his own Advantage., or if he enforce a lawful Command withunlawful Penalties : And yet it will be the Subje6ts Duty to obey. Yea, as to the matter it felf, it may be unlfu1 for a Rater to command a thing that will do no good, becaufe it is a vainCommand, and maketh men fpend that time in vain :) and yet it may be the Subje&sDuty to do it. If the Magillrate choofe an inconvenient place for riblikeworíhip, or an unfit hour, or if the Pallor choofe a lefs fit tranllation,meeter or tune, or other circumflances of worship, it may be their fin to do fo, and yet the peoples duty to o- bey them. If a Father bid his Child but carry a- flraw from one place to another, it is his fault fo to imploy his time in vain ; but the Child is not faulty in obeying.
