So that it is at once the belt(of the Father as reconciled, and the Son as the Reconciler, and that according to the tenour of the common conditional Covenant, which is the firtt afferringpart of faving Faith. 8. This fame Covenant which revealetb God as thus far reconciled by Cori. i doth offer him to be further ativaíy and fully reconciled, and to fuffifteand glorifie us; that is, to forgive, accept, and love us perfcslly for ever. And it offreth us Ore to be our a6ual Head and Mcdiatour, to procure and give us all this mercy, by communicating the benefits which he bath purchafed according to his Covenant-terms : fo that as before the Father and the Son were revealed to our aient to- gether ; fo here they arcoffered to the Will together. 9. In this offer, God is offered as the End, and Chrift as Mcdiatour is offered as the Means ; therefore the ad of the Will to God, which is here required, is frmple Love of compla- cency (with fubjetion, which is a confect to obey) but the aét of the Will to Chritt, is called choice or content, though there be in it Amor Medii, the Love of that Means for its aptitude as to the end. ro.
