Be much in the contemplationof the heavenly Glo_ ry ; for there are the bigbef objells,and thegreate&t demonffrations ofGods Love andGooderefs ; and therefore inSuch thoughts weare molt likely to meet with the Spirit with wbofe nature and defrgn they are fo agreeable. We fall in with the heavenly Spirit in his own way, when we fet our felves to be molt heavenly. Heavenly thoughts are the work whichhe would fet you on ; and the Love ofGod is the thingwhich he works you to thereby ; And nothing will fo powerfully inflame the foul with the Love of God, as to think that we (hall live in his Love and Glory for ever more. Set your felves therefore to this work, and it will be a fign that the Spirit lets you on it , and you may be Cure that hewill not be behind with you, in a work which both he and you mutt do. To this fence the Apofile bids us, pray in the Holy Gboft, Jude 20. Becaufe though prayer mull be from the Spirit, which is not in our power ; yet when we fet our felves to pray, it is both a Sign that the Spirit exciteth, and a certain proofthat he will not be behind with us, bur will af- ford us his affiflancc.
