But above all let it be marked, that nothing else can be matter ofcontroverfie to be decided. The day of Judgement is not to try Chrif c obedience and fiferings, nor to decide the cafe whether he ful fiUed the Law, andjatisficdfor fin, or made apardoning Covenant to Believers : But whether we have part in him or not, and fo are to be justifiedby the Gofpel- Covenant, throughhis merits against the Legal Covenant : And whether wehave fulfilled the conditions of the pardoning Covenant or not. This is all that can be then made a Controvetfre; this is the ferrets of mensheart and cafe that muti be opened before the world by God. However we doubt not, but the glory of all will redound to Chrift, wholemer its are unqueflioned. 6. Note alto, that Chrift will be the Judgeon fuppofition ofhis merits, and not the party to be trycd and judged. 7. Note alto, that we are to be judged by the NewCove- nantor Law of Liberty, and therefore it is the condition of that Covenant (as made with us) which is to be enquired after. S.
