And as this is the Inte'etlual *der of knowledge; Co the order which all things muff lye in at our starts andwilts, is much more ncceffary to be obferved : a. That nothing but GOD be loved as the infinite fìmple good, totally with all the heart, and finally for bimfelf: And that nothing at all be loved with any Love, which is not purely fubordinate to the Love of God, or which caufethus to love him ever the lefs. 2. That particular Cburcbes and Kingdoms be next loved ; and where ever there is more of Gods Intereff and Image, than in our(elves, that our Love be more there, than onour (elves. 6. That we next love our (elves, with that peculiar kind of love which God hath made neccfl'ary to our duty, and our happinefs and end ;- with a felf. preferring, watchful, diligent love; preferringour fouis before ourbodies, and ff iritual mer- ciesbefore temporal, and greater before lefs. 7.
