Surely if after our long Experiences of tbofe woful Defolations that Di- vtßons and Diffentions bave involved the Saints in, our Hearts fhould not be enlargedafter Union and Peace that muß repair our Breaches, we floculd have Cattle to fuf/cell our Union with, and Love to our Head. We are not ignorant bow much the Self -love and Pride of fome, and the mifguided Zeal of others of approved Sincerity, have advanced the Defrgn of the grand Enemy by Over eager and unbrotherly Bitterne; even in matters circum- ftantial: Neither are we altogether ignorant bow fubtilly that old Serpent and Deceiver bath laboured by a pretext of Love, to [wallow up' Truth ; it being for a while the only Cry, Love, Love, yetnot the leali hint of Truth, which had molt needof their Charity; being miferably torn and mangled. To which our Charity leads us to attribute the Praife of many of our Brethren, as being unwilling to buy Love with, the Lof of Truth It is the Apoftles Advice that the Truth fhouldbe ffokeei to Love, änd`that we (hooded contend earneftlythr the Faith once delivered to the Saints. But Thanks be to the Lord Godof Truth that bath preferved boa Darling from the De- vourer, making the way ofLove exceeding aimable beanie of Truth ; fa that we troll it will not lie untrodden by the Lord's People, through circumftantial Differences, whilfï all hold the Form ofwbolefom Words, confideringone another, and walking tegetber in;what they are agreed, and waitingupon the Lord for the revealingof that, wherein they differ ; perfeîlion being reforved for another World.
