Efpecially they that are in an affliâed $ate, and have more fenfible daily ufe for God, and are awakened to feek him , and regard his dealings. I know a mercy to the body is no cer- tain evidence ofGods Love to the foul.. But yet from fuch experiences a Chriflian may have very firong Probabilities. Whenwe findGod hearing Prayers , it is a hopeful fign that we have fome Intereft in him. I know fpecial Grace is the only Certain Evi- dence of fpecial Love : But yet thefe kind of ex- periences are many timesmore effectual to refreth a drooping doubting foul , then the fureft Evi- deuces. For Evidences may be unfeen, and require a great deal of holy skill and diligence to try them, which few ha e; But thefe experiences are near us,even in our odies,and Phew themfelves;they make all our boned fay, Lord Who ù like unto thee?
