For it is only our Certain Belief of thofe things which we take on the meer credit ofthe Witneffer, or Revealer, which we call Certainty of Faith, Indeedwe commonly in Englilh ufe the word Belief toexprefs any confident, but uncertain opinion or perfu,afion : And if any will fo take it, thenI deny not but our Aífurance is a belief, But it is commonly taken by Divines for an Affent to any thing on the credit of the word of the Revco ler ; and to is diliinguifhed both from the fenfible Apprelenflon of things, and from Principles that are known by the meer Light and help of Nature; and from the knowledge of Conclufions which by Reafoning we gather from thofe Principles . Though yet one and the fame thing may be Known as Revealed in Nature, and believed as revealed immediatly or Supernaturally.
