The parts are two: Firft,that the fpirit is Paid tobean earnefl ofour in- heritance; Secondly, the durance oftime, in thofe words, to, or :swill the redemption : which is defcribed from the property adjoyned, a re- demptionpurchafed ; fecondly,from the end, to thepraife ofhisglory. Firft then that he changeth the gender, and fpeaketh ofthe Spirit, as a Perfon who is, it is tobe marked, not onely as confirming the fpirit to be a diftinéì perfon from the Father and the Sonne, and alto giving us to confider that we have the perfonof thefpirit dwelling with us, and the gifts and graces wrought in our foules.
