This Text is frequently produced for feverall purpofes as to affert an unconditional Covenant , ( that all lies on Gods hand, and we are engaged to nothing) fo to decry all Gofpel Ordinan- ces, all ufe of a Miniftery to teach the good knowledge of the Lord fome make ufe of it for one of thefe ends , and confeffe it will not ferve for both ; it will Pet up an unconditional Covenant, but it will not deftroy New Teftament:Ordinances; other's will have it ferve both, when the truth is aright underffood., it ferves for neither. The two firft branches of the former anfwer will give fatisfaci- on here; If Old Teftament-Prophecies are to be underftood ac- cording to New Teftament-Interpretations then no unconditi- onall Covenant will here be eftablifhed,nòr yet Gofpel-Ordinan- ces decryed ; feeing in the New Teftament, Covenant- conditi- ons are clearly and undeniably held out, and a Gofpel-Minifte- ry effablifhed ,. which already in both parts is fully cleared.
