That which efpecially denominates a Church pure or im- impure, found or tainted, is the doctrine which they drinke in, the Principles by which they are carried. Where thefe are right, this is an high praife; where thefe are tainted, this is the greateft blemifh. That which advances a Nation a- bove all other Nations, fo that no Nation is fo great as they, that brings them right unto God, is that which is their greateft honour ; and the pollution the greateft ble- mifh, where all is right in doctrine, It can hardly be con- ceived but that there are at leaft a few names that defile not their garments, though the more the greater glory. Thefe foundation - breaches in buildings may be either cra- zes threatning danger, but repairable taken betimes may be holpen, (though a failing there is fooneft helpleffe ) or elfe it is a ruine orrottenneffe that is irremediable,irrepair able.
