Arguments concluding the naturall i ffue of Abraham, Ifaac and Jacob to be taken into Covenant. The Lord having made a Covenant in full words with Abraham and his feed he addes ; And I will give unto thee, and to thy feed after thee, the land wherein thou art a flranger all the land of Canaan for etn everla fling po(fe2on , and I will be their God. That feed of Abra.. ham that had poffefíion of the land ofe'anaan,through the gift and by vertue of the promife of God , is the feed here taken into Co- venant to have the Lord for their God. This is fo plaine, that nothing can be plainer to any that read the words ; but the natu- rall feed of eribraham,all the feed of Jacob in their feveral Tribes, (according as God fet them their bounds) inherited the land of Canaan, which is called the land of their inheritance , and not onely the fpirituall feed Regenerate, Look into the Hiftory of Scripture, who thofe were that . inherited Canaan , and you may fee who were in this Covenant; The natural feed were there, and not only the fpiritual, even thofe of Abrahams po. fterity that died, not having obtained thepromifes Heb.
