The re-ingraffing here is in their ftead that fell away by multitudes , and therefore were Hypocrites, and Formaliffs. And thofe ingraffed 'are filch ( as we`heard before) that Rand in a flippery irate , and might fall, a's they who before them had fallen; and this is not fpiritual Ifrael, but carnal, as Pare ís in dubio ¡S. obferves. 'What is meant by falvation bath been fpoken to before, and for the Text produced from verf 26, 27. There is a National returne, and a perfonal; a National pardon, and a perfonal ; pardon is oft applied to a National returne, as 2 Chron. 7.14. There pardon is the removal -of the judgement upon them , as in the Text mentioned , the delivering of the land from the judgements of drought, locufts, peftilence. The words quoted out of verf. 26, 27, are partly from ¡fay 59. zo. and partly from f erem. 3 I. 74. as i con- ceive which in the Prophets are direly fpoken of a Nationall returne, and National pardon , as Matter Baxter of one of them bath well obferved ; but in New Teftament- Scriptures varioufly applied , as all know that Text of Habakkuk is, Chap. 2. verf. 4.
