Ch.q.6. of the iue of Beleeveri', oned by any that acknowledge a right in Infants, derived from their Parents for Baptifm, for it is intereft in the Covenant that Igives the title to parent and infant : The Minor I have abun- dantly proved. The Covenant muff either be made to appear Ì to run in a more narrow channell ( which I fuppofe will hardly be done) that a man in Ignorance, or in Impenitency, as he does not keep Covenant,fo he never entred Covenant,or elfe this muft neceffarily folllow. To affert this by a Arguments. Firft, Their children whom God owns as his peculiar people, above others have right to Baptifm. This cannot be denied; ei- ther thefe have a ¡lift claim,or elfe no children at all. But God owns all in vifible profeflion, as his people, I%ai. r. z. Ifni.r. 13. i Hof. 4 6, Ter, z. i r, t3, 3 r,3 2. 7er.4. 22.7er.5.5 r . therefore the children of vifible profeffors have right to Baptifm. Secondly,Their children that are brought forth to God by their parents have right to Baptifm. This is as plain,: But vifible profeflors bring forth children to God, Etick. 16. 20. therefore their children have right to Baptifm. Thirdly, Thofe children whole Parents are children of the Kingdome of God, have their title to Baptifm;_ But thofe that are in fin, and in a way to be caft out for fin, are children of the Kingdome, Mat.S.tz. 41,1%z' .43. Ergo the children of Pa -' rents in fin have right to Baptifm. Fourthly, The children of thofe, who are themfelves Difciples of Chrift, ought to be baptized ; But men in fin are Difciples of Chrift, 7oh.6.66. whole Nations, amongwhom are many wicked ones, are Difciples, Matth.28. 19. The children of thofe then that are in fin ought to be baptized. Fifthly, The children of thofe that are of the number of bre- i thren in the faith of the Gofpel, have right to Baptifm : But men in fin are brethren in the faith of the Gofpel, t Cor.5. r t . If any that ii called a brother, be a fornicatoMr, or covetoem, or an idolater' lor a railer, or a dreenk. ird, or an extortioner) &c. 'This our difrent- ing brethren will not deny to be meant of Çhrifaians, therefore their children are to be baptized. Sixthly, f bofe children that are holy by reafon of birth from one or both beleeving parents, are to be baptized :But the chil- dren of thofe that are in fin maybe holy by reaforeof birth of one or both beleeving parents, i Cor,7. i4. To clear this place, Iii which a) Arguments evincing the right ofChri. ftians in this latitude. i
