His call and1 offer is their warrant to come. His com– m~nd obligeth ~hem, that they ·cannot refufe, but ·lb . , rebellion and difobedience againfi his royal author\– ty. The promifes are fet before them indefinitely,· : that whofoever will, may, by believing, apply them to themfelves. The King's proclamation meddles not wi~h the fe~crets of the eternal elecrion, to reveal them. T his intimation is the appointed means of begetting faith, and of bringing finners into the covenant thereby; for fai-th cometh by · hearing, Rom. x. 17.
