There is, (as I may fo (peak) a Scientcal ability, or an Experi- mental ability. As he was God,he was able in the Era fence to faccour, 'tis true : but by being tempted, he is ableEx. perimentally to fuccour them that are tempted. And therefore in the.lift Chapter, fpeakingof the fame thing, hefaith concerning the High-Priefl, That be can have Compaffion on the ignorant, andthofe that are out of the way. So then, Chrift by being tempted, is able to lac- our thole that are tempted with an abilityof Hanley, an Experimental ability with an ability ofCompaffionandDif- pofition, and gracious Inclination. And fo the Obferva- tion that lies before us, is this : The Lord Defies Chrift, it a fuccouring Chrifi to tempted fouls.
