198 1 The Spiritud-aaings of Faith that thefe words is brought in upon : why fhould our Savi our put that upon a faith of miracles, in doing a worke of Chriftianity, the forgiving the brother fo often thus ? the faith that is to be exercifed in prayer, and in forgiving our brother ordinarily, is not the faith of miracles : but the faithhe here cats for, is a faith that is to be ufed in prayer, and in forgiving of our brethren : furely, this is a faving faith, a juftifying faith that is here intended. And as one fayes well, what's all the worke of faith , but am the re- moving ofmountaines? when we take otvfins, that fluid up and hinder the light of Gods grace from finning in our hearts, and remove them off from our felves unto Jefus Chrift, to his blood, that theyare drown'd, as in the bot- tome of thatRedlea, what is this but to remove mountaines? when we- take our carnall Reafon, and our High thoughts, and bring them into obedience unto Jefus Chrift, what is this but to remove moitntaines? when our great and manifold Temptations are laid le v ell, that the promife may come into the foule freely ;what is this but to remove thefe mountaines ?
