Faith is not our Gofpel-Righteoufnefs. 01.1r Adverfaries, to flrengthen their Affertion of the Imputation of Faith , in a proper fenfe , to the exclufì.on of the imputation of the Righteoufnefs of Chritl , have other two Pofitions, which th::y own & maintaine. One is , that our Faith or our ac`t of beleevingis the whole of our Gofpel- Righteoufnefs : And the other is. That Chrift hath procured that it should be fo, by procuring the New Covenant, whereof this faith is made the Condition. To this laic we shall fpeak fomething , in the next Chapter; & of the other here. How much Mr. Baxter cloth contend , for our Faiths being called & ác- counted our Gofpel - Righteoufnefs, is known. The forenamed Author of the difcourfe of the two Covenants is very plaine pan. 48. &c. where he is explai- ning, whatGo.l's counting Abraham's faith to him for Righteoufnefs is.
