As the founda- tion of their affertion of the imputation offaith , properly t-aken, they tell us, that the New Covenant wherein thisRighteoufnefs is required, . as the condition thereof, is founded wholly in the blood of Chrifl , i fo that whatever is required of man by way Of condition of his acceptation with God , becomes accepted to that end , upou account of Chrifi's fuflering, Mr. Allen p. 16. & p. 53.,¶4. faith. Nor cloth this :, that faith accompanied with obe- dience is imputed far righteou fnefs, at all derogate from the obedience e Pilfering:- of Chrifl , in reference to the ends , for which they ferve. 'Becaufe the whole Cove- nant , it all the parts d7 termer of it , both promifes of benefices , sir the Condition on which they are promifed , are all founded in aryl his undertaking for us ; and all the benefices of it accrue tour trptu our beleeving & obeying , upon his account dx for his fake. Nir. Baxter alfo teileth us , in his book againtl D. Tully p.66. T4lat that which Chrift did by his =rites, was to procure the new Covenant. And elfewhere p. The Arminian: ground the imputa- tion of faith upon the mer'ites & obedience of Chrift Apol. f. 11.3.
