Here is the incomprehenfible riches of theMercy & Grace of God Father.. Son & Holy Ghoft, eyed as the ObjeEt,'according to their peculiar methode & order of working , in this grand affaire. 3. He is received as offered & held forth in the Promifes : Thus was he embraced of old , as the promifed Medìah , and as the fubftance of all the Promifes, which the Fathers of old faw a far off Heb. ti: 13. roh. S: 56. That promife made to Abraham that in him all Nations should be bleffed, was the Gofpel Gal. 3: S. and contained a bunddle of promifes verf. 16. And the faith of this , was that faith by which Abraham was juftified km. 4: i6 -22. Hence all the promifes are made good in and through him; and they are all ye,a & amen , in him 2. Cor. t: 2o. And he is the Subftance of them all ; for they either hold forth his Perlon , or his Work, or tome thing of Him, or Tome thing from Him , according to the Various Exigencies & Neceßìties of his people. 4. He is received as the grand meane of declaring & letting forth the glo- rious Attributes of God; which the Lord will have manifefted in and by this noble defigne of the Gofpel : for Faith fwee'tly acquiefceth in this defi- gne of God's, to preach forth his Excellencies & Vernies , in this manner; arid therefore receiveth Chrift , as offered & held forth in the Gofpel, for fuch a glorious Erld ; & fo receiveth him , as the great Gift of Love roh. 3: 16. as the mean , whereby the Righteoufnefs ofjGod is declared Rpm. 3: 25. and his Grace Ephef. 1: 5, 6. and as the Power of God . and the Wifdoin of God. u Cor. 1: 24, $phef. 3: to.
