I' Exceeding Sinfulneß ofSin. 407 woman, it is upon their Confcience, the Word takes hold upon their Confcience, and brings down the heart under the power of it : but if theWord take not holdupon confcience,ittakes not hold at all. But let a manor woman come to know what trouble of confcience for fin is, andwhat thepowerand authority of the word is, and how then doth the foul prife the word ? no manor woman ever conies toprife the word tell they havefelt thepower of the word trou- bling their confcience ; then theycome toprife the word.
