GofPel-Converfation. t7 that are wronged by another, even to feek to thofe that have wronged you,that they would be at peace with you ; youmight perhaps (confulting with flefh and blood) think it unreafona- ble that you that are wronged fhould feek peace ; I but it be- comes the Gofpel ofChrif 'that you fhould do fo ; God fought to you, you never fought to him : If God had not begun the workof peace with you, God and your fouls would have been eternally enemies, and therefore remember that you are not to live according to reafon, you think there's all the reafon in the world that thofe that have wronged you fhould crouch to your feet rather than you feek to them, well grant it,, that there is all the reafon in the world for it, I but what is there in the Golpel to the contrary ? and you are not to live only inyour Converfations as befeems reafon,b,et you are to haveyour Converfati- ens befeems the Golpel ofChrift : Ifyou fland upon thefe tearms, let him come to me rather than I-will go to him, Is this as becomes the Gofpel ? Your wilingnefs to beat peace,and to leek for peace even from your inferiors ? and do not you fay that the offence is great, Oh!
