Goffel Xemi1sion. the world, this is wonderful , and yet this is fo ; for as when God comes to pardon fin, there is not only taking away the guilt offin,but the foul is made actually righteous in Juftification ; fn alto there is not only a taking away of the enmity- between God and the foul that was there before, but he receives the foul into infinite love,and takes him into infinite friendthip withhimfelf; Oh the fweetnefs and bkffednefs of that mans Rate whole firs are pardoned : Recoilciilia ion with God follows thereupon, and he takes the foul into his bofome-love. Further upon this there follows two things, Peace in Confcience, and with the Creatures ; being juitifi:d by faith he hash peace with God, and as the immediate confequerices thereof, peace in Confcienceand with all the Creatures. I. Peace in Confcience, thofe fears and grating terrors that arofe on guilt of Confcience are gone, thole difmal accufations of Confcience are ftilled ; though it is true, a mans Confcience may trouble him . fter Pardonand Juftification,but it is through miftake, the ground of all thofe troubles of Confcience are gone ; it is with trouble of Confcience after pardon of fin as with the Sea, you that are Marriners may fee the wind at Sea railing the boifterous waveson high, yet after the wind is quite down it is a great while before they be Rill and quiet ; fo in mens fouls it is guilt of fin that caufeswoful d'fturbances : but when God pardons fin, he comes into the Soul as Chrift in the Ship and bids all be i}ill ; and though through ourweaknefs, t after the fling and guilt is removed , Confcience is troubled, 'J t is God pleated to help the weaknefs of his People fowler or later ; not only topardon fin in the Court of Heaven, but in the Court of Confcience too, and then ail fears and troubles are gone ; certaunly 1h fe that know what th:_ burnings, throb- bings at,d ailings of an accufing Confcience means, they know what a Melling it is to have Peace cf Con{cii nce, a great bief- fng to have an well there , tiecaufe the Souí bath much to d) with Confcince, and Confcience ha.h much to do with God; yea, only to do with God ; and if ill he well with thatwhich bath fomuch to do with the Almighty, it is a great bleiTednefs, blefi'ed is theman that is thus pardoned. a.
