292 on the Excellency of the Seal, things that you minde, and if you would fpeak as in the prefence of God , you cannot but. acknowledge that. the things of the flehh, are the things that do take up your hearts that are the - adequate objeas of your fpirits, and you think your great good and contentment lies in them; fo that if fo bee you might but live alwaies in this world, and have, thofe: contentments to the flefh, as you delire, you would care for nothing elfe, but your hearts would bee fully fa- tisfied; this is living after the flefh ; now the Scripture tells us clearly, that thofe that live after the flehh thus, fhall die. It is your great care that the flehh bee fatisfied, and it is Gods threat,_ that when you make it thus your great care to fatisfie the flehh, that you fhall die, fo that this is a perifhing.condition unto you.
