Thirdly , It is that that delivers from mmy temptations : you thinke that jollity and bravery is the onely happy life, but know there are a great many more temptations in that life then in a mournful( condition : It's true, there are temptations ix a mournfull condition ; there's temptations to defpaire, but that's grievous to nature, or to fhift for themfelves in fome unlawful! way. But now the temptations in a jolly condition, it's very futable to a mans nature, and therefore more dange- rous, and therefore bleffed are they that are kept in a mourn- full Condition, if God gives them hearts to fanoifie his Name in it. Fourthly, They are bleffed that are in a mournful! Condi- tion, becaufe God hath chofn for them that mourning condi- tion in the moil feafonable time : you know when a man ficke, then bitter things are more feafonable then fweete-: Now we are all fickly poore creatures, and it's a great mercy of God in this time of our lives to choofe for us a mournful! cendition,bitter things rather then fweete and lufcious things.
