296 They that hanger are bleffedfor theerefer.t. Fourthly, Blefled.are.they that hunger and third, though they do not feel.: th f righteoufnefs that they delire, they are bletfed, becaufe in the covenant of grace God accepts of the will for the deed. Now they having righteoufnefs n3uaifefted by their delire, they have force principles of it, they are there- fore within the Covenant of grace, and being within the Cove- nant of grace, they have this bleffing, that God accepts of the will for the deed ; I bef ech you confider of this, It's a great poynt, the enderflanding how this priviledge doth cone, of accepting the will for the deed. Thole that are under the law have no loch priviledge, the law requires perfect obedience, or elfe calls away all, and therefore for men and women that are ignorant and graceleife, have nothing of Chrift in them., they yet think that God will accept of their delires; of the will for the eieed, butthey are naiflaken, this is a priviledge that be- _ longs to fuch as are in the Covenant of grace,. and it is a Fur - chale of Jefus Chritl that God should accept of the will for the deed. Now thofe who have fuch a kind of hunger and thirft after righteoufnefs manifetled as before., they have force prin- ciples of righteoufnefs in them, and fo are underthe Coven tit of grace, they have this priviledge that God accepts of the will for the deed, efpecially if that hunger and thirfl after this righteoufnefs of grace,be joyned with the hunger and Chia af- ter the righteoufnefs of Chrifl, that before.hath been o¡-ened to you : Many people who fay, they would fain do better then they do,yet they never underflood` vhat it was to h gag; r after the righteoufnefs of Chrifl, and fo are not, acquainted with the Covenant of grace, they cannot have the comfort of this blef- fednefs, but fuch as having hungred and thirfled after'the righ- teoufnefs ofChrifl, and fo manifefted that they are acquainted with the Covenant of grace, and now 'hunger and this it of er the righteoufnefs of Sanéiilcation,, they may h, rebt allure themfelves, that the blelling of the Covenant of grace belongs to them, and that God accepts of the will for the deed : Now this is a mighty bleflìng, for is is a help to the foul in the midíl of All infirmities ; 'thoughI find never fuch want of ,righreouf- nefs, yet having hungring, and thirfling delres after ,it, I may comfort
