Now Incenfe it is in the New Teftament calledPrayer, and coin theOld Teftament to9,jf was a kindofemblem ofPrayer ; The offering upof our Prasers, is theoffering upof Incenfe toGod ; and theMercy=feat, It was a Typeof Jefus Chrift. Now the Incenfe fhould cover theMercy- feat ; fo our Prayers mull go up to Jefus Chrift, muff be upon him, and fo muft be accepted,by the Father. And as we reade in Judg. z 3.2o. whenglottal, offered a Sacrifice, the EOM faith,,, that the (Angle ofthe Lordafcended in theflame : This Angle of Godhere was Jefus Chrift, as we might eafily from this Scrip- ture make it out, andhe afcends up in the flame from the Alter.
