(peaks ofmans regarding ofa day, He Per. that regardeth a day , regardeth it unto the Lord. The Apotile treats in that Chapter about the obfervationof dayes; finding that many Believers could not be taken off from folemnizing of thof feafls , which were of Gods own foundingand inflitutingamong the Jews; he advifes that they thould not be judgedor hardly cen- fu red for going according to their confcience ; for he that out of confcience, and according to his light, regards,that is,doth folem- nizeor obferve a day, be regardeth it unto the Lord, that is, to the honour ofGod, and with a fincere defile to pleafe him. But the thing I aim at in alledging this Text, is to give light to the point in hand : What is it to regarda day ? The Apolle is plain, that Mans regarding ofa day, is tohave aday in fpecial account,as thole dayes were , which God inflituted among the Jewes for fpecial ends, commanding them to obferve them, and promifing a blefling in their obfervation. Proportionably, Gods' regarding ofa day, is the fpecial efi:ee n he hath, or care he takes ofit, and thefpe- cial biding he poureth down upon it. Some pradical Truths are henceobfervable. Firil, Confider thefe two parts of the curie , as they are pa- ced in fucceflionone afteranother,or in conjuration one with amt- ther,' Let theday be darknefr, and let not God regard it from above. This may teach us , That there is 'no dayfo dark, or condition fo troublefome; but if God regard and take notice ofit, man may take comfort and rejoyce in it. Though the day be darknefs, Gods eye will make it light; his regarding is a blefling ; we never lofe :all , till God leaves us.
