If there be a mef'enger with him, &c. Secondly, We have here the motive, or firft moving caufe of this mercy, that is, the grace or free favour of God , then he will begraçiouo unto him ; and faith, 'Deliver him fromgoing domne to the pit, that is, being gracious he will give forth this word for his deliverance. Then he is gracious to him, &c. (v. 24. )' Thirdly, We have here the meritorious Caufe of this merci- full deliverance ; and that is a ranlom ; I have founda ranf ©m, at the latter end of the 24th verfe. Fourthly , We have the fpeciall benefits of this deliverance, which are two-fold. Firlt , Refpeiting his body ; He is delivered from the pit of death (v.24. ) And not onlyfo,but he bath a lifeas new as when hebegan to live ; His flefb(hall befrefher then a childes ; the dales of youth(hall reinrne to him againe, (v. 2g.) Secondly , Wehive the benefit refpeòting his foule, (v.26.) He_hall pray, andGod fhall befavourable to him, and he (hall fee his face with joy ; for he will render to man his righteeufnefs.
